In a few days this week, the career of three prominent power brokers came to a brutal halt in my own province of Québec, Canada.
The IMBA Antidote: they should have taken a butler course (or our Etiquette empowerment workshops).
Some people pointed to me a few times in the past that our training look like going thirteen weeks to Finishing School to learn good manners ant the finer points of the Art of Living (i.e. understanding wine etc).
They are not wrong, but at IMBA we are not a Finishing School, we are a Beginning School (sic).
At IMBA we do not teach -Good manners and Etiquette- we empower people through them.
In our opinion, it should be something people learn early on in life to unleash their potential and live life to the full.
Butlers are privy to the life of people and their employers entrust them with their most precious possession: their Family.
There lies a Nexus of invisible red lines.
To navigate and prove your worthiness and gain the trust of your employers usually leads to substantial rewards (plus career satisfaction).
What we read in the medias (fake or real news) are sad, and the first ones who will reflect on this will be those shamed by their behaviour who will remember for the rest of their life on how they have brutally destroyed their career, their reputation, and have damaged the reputation of their family and loved ones.
One person said today on the radio about one such victim (of their own inappropriate behaviour) that he has resigned from his company and pointed to the fact that regardless of him he “has such a good team” a team that will satisfy his customers as before…when another person in the same radio show pointed that he wouldn’t give much for the future of this company where the management team knew for so many years what happened there, but stayed silent. His team are radioactive now.
I must say that I agree with this comment
Sad indeed.
My thoughts goes towards the victims.
In Vino Veritas!
