The film The Remains of the Day enjoys a cult status in the butler world for its depiction of a true to form English butler (Stevens) in the pre-World War II period. Admirably played by Anthony Hopkins, and directed by James Ivory, the scenes depicting butler work are exact to the minute details.
Not only for aspiring butlers, the book The Remains of the Day is a great story and a must read for all but sound especially relevant if this is your line of business.
